in the 1600-1800's most written things, documents, were written in Latin for high elite scientist, philosophers and respected people.
French and Italian was the "people's launguage"
Its especvially worth it, you can worth to read the orginal "Principia" by Newton withouth some choppy translation or something.
Its a great languague, as being a "dead2 language, It can be used for messages as encrytion, or art showing 'something'.
The European were very interesting fellows that era, indeed.
